2_L Studio is a dual discipline practice born out of Conrado Lopez's passion for both architectural photography and design. He relishes the challenge of designing spaces that truly please the user and the artistry of capturing the essence of a structure in a single photograph.
Design
Conrado received a Bachelors degree in Environmental Design from University of Puerto Rico. He completed his education with a Masters degree in Architecture from Columbia University, NY where he was the proud recipient of an Honor Award for Excellence in Design. After graduation, Conrado spent the next fourteen years as project designer / manager for some of the most prestigious Architectural firms in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Whether it's a small residential deck addition or a brand new 5,000 sf. home, Conrado prides himself on understanding a client's dreams and desires and making them a reality. As a husband and father of two, he understands the demands of modern family living. His goal is to help homeowners fully utilize and enjoy their space to make daily living more pleasurable. He enjoys collaborating with his client's team of interior designers, contractors, structural engineers and City officials.
Architectural Photography
Conrado first became aware of the power of architectural photography in 1987 during a six-week trip to Italy at the end of his junior year of architecture school. Armed with his first camera, a Nikon N70, he discovered what it was like to "sketch and analyze" architecture behind the lens of a camera. Years of darkroom experience enhanced his technical knowledge of photography.
Twenty years and thousands of photographs later, Conrado utilizes an all-digital process that allows him the luxury of shooting dozens of high-resolution photographs of each subject. The abundance of quality shots affords clients a wide selection of images from which to choose. Never satisfied until his images are perfect, Conrado refines his work in post-production by digitally calibrating and adjusting all client-selected shots.
Philosophy
2_L Studio prides itself on truly top-notch client service from Los Angeles to all of Southern California and beyond. The goal first and foremost is to complete every job with not only a terrific product, but with a happy, satisfied client. To achieve this goal, Conrado believes in engaging clients as collaborators. One of the company's most effective methods of communication is using a password protected website as a tool for clients to easily preview their project images, floorplans, renderings and the ability to provide feedback in a timely fashion.
